The SPORT SHOE for your Horse |
|
Would
you wear iron shoes
to run a marathon? |
|
| |
- Weight
O n average only 150g; reducing the energy consumption
as well as the centrifugal forces, hence the impact
on the limbs tremendously.
|
- Shock
absorption
Concussion is one of the main problems related to
iron shoes. Plastics absorb up to 90% of the shock,
while preventing high-frequency vibration, another
side effect of iron shoes.
|
- Elasticity
The
high-quality plastic simulates the natural grip
of a bare hoof and allows the horse to fully develop
its athletic prowess. The flexible polyurethane
expands horizontally and vertically, hence allows
for unrestricted hoof mechanism.

About
hoof protection
Without doubt,
horses played an important role in the
development of mankind. They were used
for transport, did the hard work on
farmland and in the streets, they fought
with us in our wars, they made the discovery
of continents possible; generations
depended on the strength of their horses.
At these times steel shoes were a real
blessing. By making use of them, horses
could walk long distances on every terrain,
every day, and pull the carriage or
the plough in deep ground, snow and
ice. As a result, the quality of human
life improved considerably. |
Fact
is however
The initial
purpose of hoof protection was to prevent
the hoof from abrasion! And the only
reason why iron was used back then was,
that in those days iron was the only
affordable material which could be shaped
well enough and stand the great strain
of the horses' movements.
In the 21st century nobody would seriously
want to replace rubber tyres with wooden
wheels and metal fittings or walk around
in clogs, never mind running a marathon
in iron shoes! But our horses have no
choice but to wear what we decide is
best for them. |
